The short version: your baby's cry is analyzed entirely on your iPhone. The audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded to us or anyone else. We collect only a small amount of anonymous usage and purchase data to run and improve the app.
This Privacy Policy explains how Swaddle ("Swaddle," "we," "us") handles information when you use the Swaddle mobile app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Information we do NOT collect
- Your baby's cry audio. When you tap to listen, the analysis runs on your device using Apple's on-device sound technology. The audio is processed in the moment and is not recorded, saved, or transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Account details. Swaddle has no login. We do not ask for your name, email, or password to use the App.
Information we collect
- Usage and analytics data. Anonymous, aggregated information about how the App is used (for example, which screens are viewed and which features are tapped), so we can fix problems and improve the experience. This is handled through Mixpanel.
- Purchase data. When you start or manage a subscription, we receive purchase events (such as whether a subscription is active) through Apple and our paywall provider, Superwall. We never see your card number or full payment details - those are handled by Apple.
- Information you enter in onboarding. Details such as your baby's age band and time-of-day context are used to personalize results. These are stored on your device.
How we use information
- To provide and personalize the App's cry analysis and soothing guidance.
- To understand which features help parents and to improve the App.
- To manage subscriptions and provide customer support.
What we never do
We do not sell your information. We do not upload or share your baby's cry audio. We do not use your data for cross-app advertising tracking.
Third-party services
The App relies on a few trusted providers, each with their own privacy practices:
- Apple - subscriptions and payments (StoreKit).
- Mixpanel - anonymous product analytics.
- Superwall - paywall and subscription analytics.
Data retention
On-device information (like your onboarding answers and cry history) stays on your device and is removed when you delete the App. Anonymous analytics are retained only as long as needed to operate and improve the App.
Children's privacy
Swaddle is intended for use by parents and caregivers, not by children. While the App analyzes a baby's cry, that audio is processed on-device and never collected or stored by us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can stop all collection at any time by deleting the App. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data; contact us and we will help. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.
Security
Because cry analysis happens on your device and we store as little as possible, your most sensitive information never leaves your iPhone. Any data we do handle is protected with industry-standard safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
